I’m so happy to share the very first episode of Aaron Bigeleisen's new podcast, Unfunk Your Voice, where I had the pleasure of being his first guest.
Aaron and I sat down for a deep, heart-to-heart conversation about the work I’m most passionate about: building "relational safety" and helping us all find better ways to connect. It was such a gift to reflect on my own journey and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Here’s a bit of what we dove into:
My Journey: I talk about my transition from being a computer scientist in Montreal to becoming a "social engineer" here in California—applying that same engineering mindset to how we build human connection and community.
Lessons from Home: I share a personal look at my childhood and how my parents’ ability to apologize and repair after a fight shaped my understanding of humility and accountability.
A Chapter of Growth: I spent nine years with ISTA, and in this episode, I share more about my eventual departure from that organization. It was a big moment of transition for me, moving toward a way of relating that feels more authentic and personal.
The Secure Network: We spent some time discussing the community I’m building, focused on helping people "earn" secure attachment through self-regulation and real, honest support.
What it Means to be "Secure": To me, being secure isn't about being perfect; it’s about having the tools to bring yourself and your relationships back into balance when things get "crunchy".
Finding Truth Together: We wrapped up with a look at how we can use our disagreements as a way to find deeper truths and build safer systems for everyone.
I’d love for you to give it a listen and let me know what resonates with you!
